Responsibilities of the Zoning and Planning Department
The Zoning and Planning Department has the responsibility of enforcing the City of Rogers City Zoning Ordinance.
Click here to review the city's new zoning ordinance. Also available is a Zoning Map. The ordinance was adopted by Council in February 2011. The public is welcome to review the ordinance online or look at a hard copy at City Hall.
What needs a permit?
A Right-of-way (ROW) permit is required for most construction activity that takes place in the city’s ROW. A zoning permit is required for many residential and commercial projects. Below is a downloadable list of common permits. Click here for the fee schedule adopted by city council. This is only a guide and is not meant to answer all questions. Feel free to contact Toby Kuznicki @ 989-734-2191 x227 to discuss your project prior starting it.
