DEVELOPING IN ROGERS CITY

Picture

Welcome and thank you for your interest in helping Rogers City grow!  This page is designed as a starting point as you research your business plan.

We understand that going from an idea to open for business can be daunting.  Be assured that in Rogers City you are not alone.  Our development team includes City staff as well as several outside agencies; two of which are the Presque Isle County EDC and the MEDC.  Depending on the needs of your project it may make sense to contact these agencies early in your planning stages.

In March 2014 the Presque Isle County Board of Commissioner’s teamed up with Target Alpena and Alpena Chamber of Commerce to bring a regional forum to our county.  The County Board of Commissioners continue to work with the local EDC/CDC Board towards growth in our community and are able to have those needs met and served with the help of our partners at the Alpena Chamber. If you would like more information, please visit the chamber’s website Alpena Chamber.

MEDC offers grants and loans to redevelop Michigan’s downtowns and foster historic preservation.  For full details on incentive programs to support real estate development projects contact a Community Assistance Specialist.

Once a project concept is developed the City encourages a Pre-Application conference to help answer questions and assure the idea fits with planning and zoning.  A meeting can be set up by contacting Toby Kuznicki Ph: (989) 734 2191 or email tkuznicki@rogerscity.com

To help your project move forward many more resources are available with The Rogers City Development Guide .  We hope you find this information helpful to bring your concept to reality.  Feel free to reach out to us if we can help along the way.
